Meet the physician · Henderson, Nevada

Dr. Orlandis Wells, MD

Board-certified OB/GYN. Menopause and hormone care in Henderson, Nevada.

You aren’t crazy, lazy, or broken. It’s your hormones.

I founded Hormone Therapy Institute for the woman who has been told her labs are normal and still doesn’t feel like herself. I’ve spent 26+ years in women’s health and practiced hormone therapy since 2008, and more than 3,000 women have trusted me with this part of their lives.

Fifteen minutes to ask about the practice and what your next step should be. It’s a conversation, not a medical consultation.

Professional background

My background, plainly.

You should know exactly who is guiding your care, and exactly what each credential means.

  • Board certification

American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).

  • Nevada medical license

    Current and active.

  • Residency

Obstetrics and gynecology, LSU School of Medicine, New Orleans, 1999 to 2003.

  • Hormone training

Advanced Bioidentical Hormone Therapist, certificate of training and completion from WorldLink Medical, 2018. That is advanced coursework, not a board certification, and I want you to know the difference.

  • Functional and integrative medicine

Certificate programs in functional and integrative medicine, including Functional Medicine University. That training shapes how I look for the root cause instead of stopping at the symptom, and like my hormone training, it’s coursework, not a board certification.

  • The Menopause Society

    Member.

  • Author

Hormone Secrets and Doc, Please Listen.

  • Media

Medical commentator for Fox 5 Vegas and The Morning Blend.

Why I practice this way

It started with my mother.

My mother had a total hysterectomy, gained weight she could not lose, and was put on a medication that made her miserable. She told me, crying, that she would rather be with her late mother than keep living in that pain. I was a conventional OB/GYN at the time, and I thought bioidentical hormones were woo-woo medicine.

Then hormone therapy gave my mother her life back. At 65 she took up Zumba and rode a bicycle for the first time in her life. Her last years were her happiest. That changed how I practice medicine.

I’m on hormone therapy myself. I tend to eat my own cooking.

How I’ll work with you

What working with me looks like.

I was trained that the doctor says and the patient does. I don’t practice that way. I’ll lead, but you’ll never leave my office wondering why.

01

You talk first

Tell me what changed, what you’ve already tried, and what you want back. I want the whole story, not the rushed version.

02

I explain the why

Every test I order has a reason, and every result gets explained in plain English until it makes sense to you.

We decide together

Benefits, risks and alternatives in the same conversation. Hormone therapy when it fits your history, something else when it doesn’t.

How I organize your care

The 4D Method.

Discover, Diagnose, Design, Defend. It’s how I organize your care from our first conversation through long-term follow-up. It’s a framework for how I work, not a promise of a particular result.
